Module-10 | Exceptional Sales Performance

Objectives

After working on this module, you will be able to:

  • Identify and interview three exceptional salespersons in the retail store;
  • Describe their progress in the retail company;
  • Evaluate how they have gained professional expertise;
  • Identify the important qualities a sales person should posses;
  • Identify what advise they would give to a beginner;
  • Define exceptional Performance of the sales person; and
  • Conclude personal skills they have built and how they acquired them.

Activity 1

You are required to interview three excellent sales persons working in the retail store, and find out what made him/her exceptional. You could ask the following questions and understand their responses before you actually write down the interaction in the boxes given below:

    1) Describe how you have progessed in the company?
    2) How are you built up your professional expertise?
    3) What are the important qualities that a salespersons should possess?
    4) What advice would you give to a beginner, who first joins in a retail store?
    5) How do you define exceptional Performance for a sales person?
    6) What personal skills have you built up in your career, and how did you acqire these?
    Collate the data of the interview and write down the finding of these interviews.

Sales person 1 :

Mahesh:-
He is most experience sale person in our shop group of sales man. He have the experience of eight years in the retails industry. He is very good person he always teach us and give us more knowledge to talk to a customer Upselling through a customer a many more ideas. He always help everyone in hte industry.

→ He tell us that how the join max fashion and how he sales goods and provide the best quality services to the customers. His personality is also very good he is very hardworkig person and give knowledge to every new staff member. Whenever there is any problem occured by another fresher/ staff member he fo and clear all the problems. I like his attitude of talking wiht customers through his personality and his attitude. He know about all the products inside max fashion and if any cusotmer has some query then he easily understand the customer about the product or any service.
→ He always is touch of manager sometimes I thought that he is assistant manager of our industry and we called his sir as mahesh sir in hte share. And he is also one of the best friend in own life.

Sales person 2 :

Jitender:-
→ Jitender is my one of the best friend he is joined in max fashion with me and he is also a fresher whernever our staff head tells us about any product either any other informations than he focused very carefully and learn all points of the head and work through these points. His personality is also too good and he also attracts the customers through his voice, his attitude, his behavior etc. And then the convence the cusotmer to bu such product. If cusotmers have any query than he easily faced cusotmers questions and easily understand the customers about the product, about new products laucnched by company and also aware the customers about the discounts on the products. We are very near in our store so if i faced more than 2 cusotmers so he directly come in my side and talk to the cusotmer

→ I learn very much things from his and he also understand me about how to talk to a cusotmer how to stand in front of cusotmers etc.

Sales person 3 :

Deepak:-
→ Deepak is second higher experienced person in our store and he is very connect with the mahesh. He helps us in many formats sometimes he is strickt to us but on the cusotmers side he is very possessive. He talk to the cusotmer very fluently and also aware the cusotmers about the new brands/ products, new discounts and other things many times I noticed that if a cusotmer ( regular cusotmer ) comes in the store they find that where is deepak and after deepak comes they told about which type of product he/she wants. helps him/her and tells all the general informations about the products.

Sales person 3 (contd...)

→ His personality is not too good, but his attitude and talking style is very good. Through his behavior he attracts the customers towards him from the last 5 year he is work in such industry and everyone in satified with his job. He is alos very frank type. In lunch time he makes jokes etc. He knows all the informations about the products. If there is a shirt then he knows all the colors, and styles fo wearning shirt, and combination dress too. I learn very much things from him.
